Thank you for checking out Comstock Critters Taxidermy! My name is Rob DuFresne and I am the artist and owner of Comstock Critters Taxidermy. I was born and raised on the Comstock in Virginia City, Nevada. I am an avid lifelong hunter and fisherman who treasures my time outdoors. My family and I are very committed to our community and the conservation of wildlife for future generations to enjoy. In addition, my wife and I are volunteer certified instructors for the Nevada Division of Wildlife’s hunter education program.
My interest in taxidermy began as a teenager, but I could not afford to have the harvested animals mounted. As I grew older and my interest in taxidermy expanded, I became disappointed in the quality and workmanship of the mounts in my local community. Therefore, I decided to learn how to do taxidermy. Over the past twenty years, I have strived to achieve the most realistic reproductions of nature’s beauty.
